The mandate of the Department is as follows:
Management of personnel matters in a manner that targets the achievement of overall organizational goals and objectives through proper training; planning, organizing, budgeting, co-ordination, directing, leadership, feedback and evaluation and motivation.
For the effective discharge of its mandate, the Department is structured into two broad Divisions, namely, Training & Staff Welfare & Appointment, Promotion & Discipline. Each of the Divisions is sub-divided into Branches and Sections. While the Department is headed by a Director, the Divisions are headed by Deputy Directors, Branches by Assistant Directors and the Sections by Chiefs.
